Cae Groes
Location - Cae Groes House (LL26 0SD) is situated on the Nebo Road, half a mile from the centre of Llanrwst in the Conwy Valley. Llanrwst provides a good range of shops, pubs and hotels, has an indoor swimming pool and is an excellent centre for access to the Snowdonia National Park - ideal for all grades of walking and climbing. Next door to Cae Groes is a sports centre with a climbing wall.
Travel - It is four miles from Betws y Coed along the A470. As soon as you enter Llanrwst (from Betws y Coed) take the first right (before the bridge) and then immediately (only five yards further!) right into Nebo Road. The drive to Cae Groes is on the left after about half a mile immediately before the high chain link fence of the Leisure Centre.
Description - Cae Groes consists of a converted farmhouse and four self-contained flatlets, a barn with table tennis table and space for mountain bike storage, a drying room and male and female shower/toilet block. There is a large grassed garden and adequate space for car parking.
Accommodation - The house has 34 beds in five separate rooms (one room has four beds, two have six beds, one has eight beds, and the attic has ten beds). Three bedrooms have bunk beds and the attic and one of the six-bedded rooms have alpine sleeping shelves. The house is centrally heated and has a kitchen, lounge and dining room.
The four flatlets are in a separate two-storey block. Each unit is centrally heated and has its own toilet and lounge-diner-kitchen with a fridge. Each unit has accommodation for five people: A bed-settee provides two beds and a small separate room has a two-bedded bunk. There is a campbed for the fifth bed.
Beds - All beds have dunlopillo, or interior sprung mattresses, with pillow and blankets. You must bring your own pillow-cases and sleeping bag or sheets.
Availability – Cae Groes may be used only by members of BBRCC, their family and their guests. Guests must be accompanied by a member.
